The shield is an incredible work of art— a true museum piece. The depth and skill of the repousse work is astounding: pure perfection. Be advised: the shield is large and heavy. Check your metric conversion table The shield is about one yard in diameter, and as the brass is thin, it is a bit wobbly. Overall, unsuitable for carry or for combat. I purchased it for a rough companion piece to a Naue II sword I have; but it is surely a display piece, and magnificent as it is. When opened, it filled my home with scattered, reflected golden light. It is like a giant mandala: a meditation object, and now the very center of my home and room. I hung it on the wall at the foot of my bed so it will be the last thing, and the first thing, I see every night and day. It really is that beautiful.
