It’s a wonderful spatha. The price is very good and the communication with the seller was excellent. Perfect item for historical reenactment. I highly recommend this shop!
This is a very nice replica of a late Roman spatha of the type found in the Danish bog deposit of the third century AD at Vimose. Blade is a bit heavy and could be ground down thinner, but nice shape and double fuller. The scabbard is beautiful too, although it s a later, fifth-century type, but very well done with bone slide and Latin-inscribed chape, ‘long live Gratian.’ Really good sword, especially for the price.
