Description – 
The Great Helm Templar was designed as an evolved form of the bucket/barrel-shaped Great Helm and is widely known as the Templar. The predecessor of this helmet was highly vulnerable to direct head blows. Although the rim of the helmet was strong, the flat top was weak, and hence, in this design, the tilted head plate reduced the risk of fatal injuries or death. The overall design and décor elements remained intact but the eye slits were elongated to increase the field of vision. This shape also fits better on the head of the knight because of a tapering top that follows the curve of the human skull.

Some specifications of the product –

The replica of the Templar Great Helm is completely hand-crafted. Our standard makes are made of 1.2 mm-thick sheet metal. The brass decorations are 1mm thick. The helmet has a leather liner on the inside and a 3mm thick vegetable-tanned leather chinstrap. The buckle in the chinstrap has a simple D-shape and pin setup. The belt system is adjustable, and the leather lining makes it comfortable on the head. The helmet is painted black on the inside to prevent corrosion.

A later version of the Templar Great Helm is the Sugarloaf Great Helm that has a more conical skull shape.
