The  Greek Attic Helmet is an inspiration from the historical findings found at the excavation site of Mound Grave, Gravani, Romania. The Attic helmet is believed to have been used by the militiamen during their expeditions. These types of helmets were simple and therefore were less expensive and required less maintenance. The helmet has a rather hemispherical shape, the central joint of the helmet makes it very slightly flat on the top. The attic helmet has a combination of an elongated visor and a predominant pediment running on both sides. Currently, the original helmet artifact is on display at the Braila Museum in Romania.

I had a good experience purchasing this helmet (the first I have ever purchased!). I was looking for something specific and this item came the closest out of everything I could find online. I wrote to them, explained what I needed and they said they would be able to make slight alterations for me. I noticed that they were located across the world, so I shared my timeline and they were able to meet it comfortably. Communication was quick and polite. Item is exactly what I expected.

For an off-the-shelf item, this is an excellent quality helmet, with just a bit of padding, it’s as if it was made for my head, it fits so well. The cheek pieces are fitted on very tightly so they do not loosely fall with the flow of gravity, they stay on whatever level you decide to raise or lower them. This helmet was very popular in the ancient Mediterranean world from the Hellenistic age to around the middle and maybe late roman republic, so it is very versatile for multiple warrior cultures you decide to reenact as, such as Greeks, Republic Romans, Macedonians, Carthaginians, Thracians, Italians, Etruscans, etc… It’s very well priced, so I totally recommend it to beginner reenactors, who are on a budget and want something that is of great quality and easily affordable. No known issues with it so far other than that the edges of the rivets on the inside that attach the cheek pieces to the helmet are a little sharp, but they don’t seem to be able to reach the skin of my face, so there’s hardly any real risk of cutting my face or scalp, the padding pretty much eliminates this risk, so it’s almost not an issue at all, can’t really complain since it was sold very cheap.
