Description – The Greek Corinthian Helmet belongs to one of the oldest ages of combat, where helmets were being used. The Corinthian helmet got its name from the place of excavation in Corinth. The original helmet was found in bronze. The earlier forms of the helmet were of a more open form; it did not cover the entire head of the user. The Greek hoplites used to pull back their helmets to rest on their foreheads for comfort during the rest/stroll hours. The shape of the helmet is more ovoid than hemispherical. The slits for the eyes and the rest of the face are proportional, they give ample space for vision and ventilation.

  1. The helmet is wonderful for a good price! It is designed based on the “Miltiades” helmet from the Olympia museum, with shorter cheek pieces than most replica helmets. The plume is very nice, too. One word of advice, if you order it make sure to supply them with your head circumference and specify that it needs to be at least that size at the NARROWEST part of the helmet. I asked for my head size and they made the bowl of the helmet accordingly, but below the bowl was too narrow and I couldn’t get my head through it. It doesn’t really bother me because I don’t reenact and this is just for display, but if you want it to fit it will be essential to get that measurement right. But that was an error of communication, not craftsmanship. It looks great and I highly recommend it!
