Hexagonal Buckler

Hexagonal Buckler is a shield used in hand-to-hand combat with an arming sword. It is a defensive piece of equipment but can also be used as a weapon. Bucklers were mainly used during the medieval/renaissance period but the first appearance of the bucklers was seen in an extant-armed combat manual from the year 1300. The buckler was poor defense equipment when it came to missile weapons like arrows or spears but it was a good companion weapon for close-quarter combat situations.

The replica of the Hexagonal Buckler is made of 16 gauge mild steel sheet metal. The edge is folded over for comfortable use. The handle is also made of mild steel in 18 gauge sheet metal. The grip of the handle can be made of wood. The current model of the Hexagonal Buckler has a mild steel handle with a leather covering.
