The scale gorget is a suitable piece of armor for Roman-era reenactors. The Squamata armor was evidently used by the Roman officers. The squamata was an expensive piece of armor, and therefore, only cavalrymen have been seen wearing them. It can be worn on a cuirass or a chainmail armor to provide additional protection to the soldier.

Description

Some specifications of the product –

The scale gorget is made of 0.5mm sheet metal scales, stitched together using a 1mm brass wire and fixed on a heavy-duty canvas fabric. The collar of the gorget stands firmly on a 3mm thick leather band to give it a structure. The slit has been provided at the back with a locking mechanism for easy fitting of the armor.

The scale gorget is suitable for Roman era reenactment. It can be worn over the cuirass or a chainmail shirt. The armor provides adequate protection to the shoulder area and drapes closely around the pectoral region.
